Meet the craftsman

From an Italian grandfather to a Castleton storefront.

Gino Mina is the owner and operator of Gino's Shoe Repair and Comfort Footwear. He has been providing shoe repair and foot care to the Indianapolis area for over 30 years. His attention to quality and customer satisfaction is the cornerstone of his business.

While following in the footsteps of his grandfather, an artisan shoemaker from Italy, Gino began his career working in his older brother's shoe repair shop in Greenwood. In 1995, he moved to North Indianapolis, where he operated Hakky Shoe Repair in Castleton for 26 years.

A new chapter, same craft

What we stand for

The work is slow on purpose. Each piece is examined, cleaned, repaired, and finished by hand. The result is footwear that lasts longer, looks better, and stays out of the landfill.

  • Honest estimates. We tell you what is worth repairing and what is not, before any work begins.
  • Quality materials. Vibram soles, Saphir polish, Kiwi products, and other trusted brands.
  • Real craftsmanship. Every repair passes through Gino's hands, not an assembly line.
  • Local roots. A family trade, three decades in Indianapolis, and counting.
